Free Greg Taylor

This is not normally the type of story I would post here, however, I am close to the situation and want to do what I can to help. I know this man's father well, and have known much of what has been going on over the years. Only now, can this be made public, since the Innocence Commission has made a ruling. Brief synopsis- Greg Taylor was convicted of Murder here in My home state and has served 16 years in prison for a crime he had nothing to do with. Crucial evidence was withheld at the trial, and the real guilty party was not even questioned, even though the D.A. had evidence pointing to him. Greg Taylor's family have spent the last 16 years attempting to get the courts to review this case, and each time they were stonewalled, particularly by the D.A. that procecuted the case. Recently, two major events have changed in Greg's favor. The real killer has confessed, and there is DNA evidence that links the confessor to the murder. The North Carolina Innocence Inquiry Commission ruled unanimously, asking judges to revisit this case. Hopefully, Greg will be free soon.

-new development- February 4, 2010 There was a preliminary hearing two weeks ago, and all that can be reported about that is that Willoughby tried to suppress all the evidence from the first trial, saying that since the jury had ruled a conviction, there was no need for it to be reviewed. He was silenced when the judge said that all the new evidence must be examined in light of the old trial evidence. He was ordered to turn all his records over for examination. There is not a lot of anything else new to report other than the hearing for Greg is this coming Tuesday, Feb. 9. Hopefully, he will walk out a free man.
