It is far easier to fool the masses the first time than it is to convince them that they have already been fooled.    :D
Political correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.   :P

All in fun.

As most of you know already, I do not trust any politician, no matter what side of the fence he hails from.  Obviously, I do not like Obama, but I also did not like Bush either.  ;D

I want to post some more to keep the debate going, but I leaving early to go to my parents home for the day, maybe two.  It is her Birthday, so we are all gathering there from all over.

There is no trusting any politician, unless you put them in a position where whatever they are doing for you is of greater benefit to themselves
That can be done easier on local or county level than State or Fed.
Have personally been involved in getting some laws changed that effected fishing, quickly found out the way to do that kind of thing is to focus on
the $$ aspects as opposed to focusing on anything that pols can put in their pockets.

Majority of "lies" I see Obama as getting tied to come from compromises he had to make with his own party, prior to his becoming  a "lame duck"
In 2008 when he first laid out the health plan he had, it was very well received, and made sense, by the time Pelosi and those other idjits on the
hill got done with it, it had no resemblance to what was first proposed.
I see very little difference between either party, except for where the money for their campaign's comes from. Pelosi was the worse speaker
in the history of the United States, she has proven she will lie, cheat and steal going back to that ton of money her and her hubby made
off of insider trading that would have had anyone else in Jail.

That is problem with any "promise" a Presidential candidate makes, they have to get it through the biggest den of thieves on the face of the planet
in order to have it passed, and by the time it gets passed, with all the riders and other crap they attach as they are sucking as many tax dollars as
possible out of it for their cronies and themselves, it becomes another presidential lie

I don't care much for Obama either, but TBH Romney scares hell out of me, IMO he has no soul, and the people he is tied to, and will beholden to
if he wins this election, are the kind that don't give a damn about anything but the $$
Idea of having someone like Romney, who is already talking trash in the Middle East, as Commander and Chief of our Military, is
the stuff of nightmares for me.

Feels to me like damned if you do and damned if you don't situation.

Remember a few months ago when the Hollywood bigwigs threatened to pull Obama's campaign funds unless he did something about piracy?

THAT shows who REALLY calls the shots - not politicians

It's the corporations like banks and media who control countries and not governments

(Basically the Jews for us conspiracy freaks - why else is the US big mates with Israel? :))

Funny thing  bout that, when "real people" hammered hell out of Congress with phone calls and petitions all that
crap got put aside so far
Have letters from both my Senator's how they were voting against the bills because they were afraid that our privacy
could be invaded
In the end, if you can motivate enough people to get off their butts to make those muppets think they could lose their easy $$
they will listen to the voters, because they can always find someone with $$ that wants to give it to them, more about power
than $$ when it comes right down to it
This internet stuff is really first time I can remember when people got up and really made their voices heard and it
made the pols think a bit

I am a bit worried about our ties with Israel now, especially with some of the stuff Romney was saying
when he visited, could just see us using attack on our Ally as an excuse to go over to Middle East and
get ourselves in a war

Look at all the oil, and the money to be made rebuilding after the bombs have dropped
How much do you think Haliburton has sucked in over the last 10 years or so ?

Be that as it may, I was astonished at all the untrue rightwing talking points you spouted earlier in this thread. You might state that you don't trust any politician, but it's clear which politicians junk you've trusted enough to swallow.  Just sayin'.

Obama has absolutely no record to stand on, so he (well actually his campaign folks) are doing nothing but spouting lies to try to cloud the real issue. The real issue up for debate is the economy.  The whole country is concerned about the economy. At least Romney=y and Ryan want to do something real about the economy.

Mr Obama has absolutely NO business sense whatsoever, and thinks that private businesses should be ran like the government. The problem is that his socialist/communist leaning ideals won't even work in government, much less the private sector. The private sector is NOT doing fine as he claims. The only thing he does have as a feather in his cap is Obamacare, the even most Democrats do not like it in the present state. They only voted to go along with their party.
The key to economic recovery is not to borrow more money, but to make sharp cuts in the budget. He wants to continue to expand govenment. I hate big government and am all for a minimized and scaled down government myself.

I don't so much dislike Obama as much as I dislike the shady characters that he surrounded himself with, particularly Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid.
However Much of what I said is the truth, but the mainstream media has covered it up from the start. Even his own own family still swears he was born in Kenya, not Hawaii.
Why do you think a man with so much wealth and power such as Trump would put himself on the line so hard if there wasn't something being covered up?
Trump has billions and has no need for exposure.  Granted, I think he is a pompous ass myself, but he had a real good reason for pushing the issue.

Have you read the piece of fiction Obama wrote- Dreams of my Father.  He admits to his Muslim leanings and that he was born in Kenya in the book. Then, he comes back several years later and admits that most of it is fictional and the characters are made up.  Now which is it, is the book truth, or did he write a lie?  Let's be honest about him. He has never ever done anything in his entire life noteworthy or experiential to be qualified to have ever been president.

Political correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.   :P

Yup--mostly baseless right wing talking points.  Suspicion confirmed.

Cons owe a debt of gratitude to Pelosi for taking impeachment of the most impeachable president in U.S. history off the table. When you say junk about Pelosi, SMILE.

Oh dear. Even though I've pulled the plug on my own GoDaddy hosted forum, my itty bitty community caused me to establish it on SMFNew (free hosted).  It's the 2012 election silly season with cons outnumbering libs and I already got my hands plenty full. Whew!  I don't know how long I can take this!!

He he, Suffice it to say that you and I will never see eye to eye politically, but that is OK too. I also will fight for everyone's opinion to be spoken, regardless of whether it agrees with mine or not.  :)

In the end, no matter who wins, if that administration doesn't do something Real to help the economy, this country will be sunk. Borrowing from China and giving millions to companies that filed bankrupcy within a year is not the answer.  Creating new government agencies is not the answer.

I agree with what TJ posted way back somewhere in this topic, or maybe it was another topic. The real cuts need to start at the top with the outrageous salaries of Congress, the outrageous benefits, and the outrageous pensions.

Has Obama (or his scriptwriters) come up with another brainwashing meme to get him re-elected yet?

I thought it was quite scary to watch everyone repeat "Yes We Can" every time he said it - sort of a modern Invasion of the Bodysnatchers but without cool people

Maybe "I'm with Jew" would be a good one considering the amount of money he gets from Hollywood  >:D

Worst President since Nixon IMO

"Facts are stupid things." -at the 1988 Republican National Convention, attempting to quote John Adams, who said, "Facts are stubborn things"

"Trees cause more pollution than automobiles."

"All the waste in a year from a nuclear power plant can be stored under a desk."

"There is absolutely no circumstance whatever under which I would accept that spot. Even if they tied and gagged me, I would find a way to signal by wiggling my ears." --on possibly being offered the vice presidency in 1968

"Politics is not a bad profession. If you succeed, there are many rewards. If you disgrace yourself, you can always write a book."

"You can tell a lot about a fella's character by whether he picks out all of one color or just grabs a handful." -explaining why he liked to have a jar of jelly beans on hand for important meetings

"I want you to know that also I will not make age an issue of this campaign. I am not going to exploit, for political purposes, my opponent's youth and inexperience." -during a 1984 presidential debate with Walter Mondale

"The state of California has no business subsidizing intellectual curiosity." -responding to student protests on college campuses during his tenure as California governor

"Approximately 80 percent of our air pollution stems from hydrocarbons released by vegetation, so let's not go overboard in setting and enforcing tough emission standards from man-made sources."

"Recession is when your neighbor loses his job. Depression is when you lose yours. And recovery is when Jimmy Carter loses his."

...which isn't saying much. He was a lousy President.  I voted for him the first time but not the second time.
