no, seriously. you drink healthy tea's, eat salsa, chili, etc. all heart smart stuff. i had a double and a single cheeseburger from Dairy Queen for dinner   :P

I'm trying to be good - stopped eating sweets and choc and been living on chili, oatcakes and peanuts mostly

Doc told me to lose a stone and get my blood sugar down to 7.5 (from 11.9) in 6 months or I go on insulin

Cutting down of coffee too and trying a few different herbal teas

Got a thyroid problem now too so will be on more pills when I see him in a couple of weeks  :(

Really fancy a burger now :D

if you can switch from peanuts to almonds, your cholesterol will drop quite a bit, small handful a day will do it. you can also get almond butter instead of peanut butter, but it is quite a bit more expensive. almonds (or walnuts) are very heart smart (right from a doc's mouth). niacin supplement also lowers cholesterol (also from doc).

soya milk is great for lowering cholesterol - may have mentioned it before

doc is pleased with cholesterol level at the moment

bought loads of Twiglets today - thought they were semi bad but they are actually pretty good - low(ish) fat for a snack and a wholegrain too

hehe - just noticed on the wiki they have niacin too = high carb but low sugar and salt  :great:

i don't think you can get Twiglets here, although you can get Peek Freens cookies (the original maker of Twiglets).

lol, what do you eat with all that salsa? do you just eat it by the bowl with a spoon, or on corn chips? it's really good on eggs or pork chops.

used to eat it with Doritos but have switched to flour tortilla wraps - much healthier

or if I haven't got those the straight from a bowl with a spoon :)

I sometimes buy the supermarket stuff in a jar if I buy doritos but prefer making my own

It's nice and chunky and also has kidney beans in it .... an it's a LOT hotter  >:D
