Just upgraded the system...
« on: September 03, 2009, 03:24:15 PM »
I went from a single ATI HD 4870 to twin ATI HD4850's.
I mainly did it because they were cheap, and I run Boinc so now I can run 6 units at once instead of 3.
A handy and neat side effect was getting twin monitors... very handy indeed. Just click and throw windows to the other monitor.

So now I have a 19 inch wide screen and a 17" regular LCD. Soon to be twin 24 inchers...

tell me about it...
I can watch Boinc, and nero burning on one screen and surf and whatever else on the other... I LIKE it.

A pic...
you can see the browser splayed between the two with the first part of this post. I would like to figure out how to move the expansion side to the right instead of left though... that takes some getting used to.

woot I got the right left thing sorted... so not it is all one really wide screen!

I play games on my PC and that would be handy for viewing maps and walkthroughs while playing currently I use my TV as my extended desktop so I can watch movies.

the bad thing is it has to be separate windows. I do not think that you could manipulate game type things unless they came up as an individual thing. Though on most games the map does pop up on its own movable window.

Nah, I find maps and such on-line so they can be opened in a separate window.
